David Gillis was brought up in a musical family in Bristol. He learnt the piano and guitar from a very early age and taught himself to play by ear.

He took an active role in the music scene in Bristol and played in many of the professional bands in residencies in the city. He went on to record two singles and worked with many great recording artists..

David read music at Reading University where he also undertook a PGCE. He worked as a head of music for a number of years in various schools and then went on to pursue a life as a freelance musician and private music teacher.

David now enjoys a residency at Tylney Hall Hotel in Rotherwick Hampshire and continues to teach the piano privately.
